JJ receives a gift from Ren. It's a package of a very fancy skating outfit, designed (but not made) by Ren. There are also some winter themed mochi flavors and a gift card to karaoke.
The note says
"Dear JJ,
I hope you find this costume charming. I wanted to design something for you, so I took the chance I had. It would please me to see you in it at least once, sometime.
[Makoto couldn't help but sigh as he finished getting dressed in his new apartment. This was the third world he had been to, wasn't it? He wondered if he would ever make it home at this rate. But, there wasn't much he could so he decided to get to know this new place and hope he could acclimate here just like he did the previous two times.

JJ...
[He looked at the ring on his hand, twisting it softly around his finger. Did he make it here too? Biscuit and Cake did. Which was a good sign, in Makoto's opinion. Well, he was just going to have to look and, if nothing else, there was this world's network too.]
C'mon, Biscuit. Let's find you a pet store and get you a new leash, okay?
[He patted his thigh and the golden retriever/German shepherd mix (now full grown) hopped off the bed to follow Makoto out of the apartment with happy pants and tail wagging while Cake continued to lounge on the bed.
After making his way downstairs, Makoto decided to stop in the front reception area to seek a map from the receptionist and possibly some directions to the nearest pet store. But then, Biscuit started to whine loudly and bolted away.]
B-Biscuit? Hey, get back here! [He turned to the receptionist.] I'm so sorry about this, I'll be right back.
[ He didn't have much in his apartment yet. It was just him, three dogs, and a few random things he seemed to always get when he ended up in a new place. This was the third place they had visited. It was the third time he had been swept off to another place. This time he hadn't found Makoto yet, but he hoped that the other was here. He was optimistic about it. He'd been lucky so far.
He had let the dogs run about not long before heading off on his own. He had to pick up a few things for himself and the pups. Dog food, food for himself, toys. Whatever he'd be able to afford, which he wasn't sure what that was yet.
He stepped around a corner to the front of the building, not far from reception himself, when he's met with a familiar face - well, dog. ]
Biscuit! [ An excited sound as he immediately bent at the knee to start giving Biscuit pets and forehead kisses. Certainly, this guy wouldn't be without Makoto, right? ] Is your dad here?
[ JJ moved his hands over the dog's fur, giving him one more kiss on the head. He leaned forward, taking Makoto's hand in his own ringed hand, and kisses the top of it gently, before gripping it and getting upright. He steps forward, around the dog, and wraps his arms tightly around the other. ]
I must be the luckiest guy alive to have you here with me.
[ He doesn't plan on letting go for a moment, okay. ]
[Makoto couldn't help the flush of his cheeks when JJ took his hand to kiss. He blushed to his ears. Then, JJ was up and Makoto was in the other man's arms and it was as though all the anxiety was swept away. He let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding and returned the hug just as tightly.]
Silly. That's my line.
[They could never return to their physical homes for all he cared right now. Home was in JJ's arms.]
[ A happy blush at the other's compliment. He couldn't argue it, though. It would be strange if he, of all people, argued against it. There's a playful smile as he grips the other tight for a few moments. He's the happiest he's ever been here. Even winning a gold doesn't compete with it. Finally pulling away, but shifting to take Makoto's hand in his. ]
I'm glad I don't have to try and make you remember me. You're worth the effort, but now we can skip to the best part.
[ Sappy as ever, he's just glad to be with him again. ]
We're going to become professional world-hoppers together at this rate.
[Makoto squeezed JJ's hands before letting one go, intertwining their fingers with the other and then tugged.]
C'mon, how about we get you settled and then we can get the dogs situated. I was asked the receptionist where the nearest pet store was when Biscuit took off. Also, the apartments have our clothes. We can check where you're assigned to and then make the change to share.
[He gave a soft smile and a tilt of his head. No arguments, this is the plan, JJ!]
Oh, I found my room! I even have the triplets with me. [ Happily holds onto his hand. He feels spoiled all over again when he's given attention and affection from Makoto. Isn't he lucky? ]
But we can bring Biscuit up if we want to just go to the pet store ourselves. [ He's willing to follow his lead. ]
I already got Biscuit out, and if you already got your room settled, then let's just go to the pet store. Do you know where it is?
[His thumb gently stroked the top of JJ's. He was quite happy himself and a part of him wanted to take JJ inside and simply spend the day with him. But that wouldn't be very responsible of them. Third time, third world, but the initial responsibilities were the same. Find a house (check), get some clothes (sort of check), and now, get the animals situated. Everything else could come later.]
[It's said fondly and with a soft smile. He hands JJ the leash. Biscuit simply sat patiently, tail swishing on the sidewalk.]
Hold this.
[JJ wasn't good a directions, but Makoto generally was. So, he went with his original plan and went back inside the apartments to ask the front desk for some directions. It wasn't long before he was back out with the Notes app open on his phone and a list of directions. It wasn't very far and the directions seemed fairly straightforward.]
Alright, let's go. She said it was about a ten minute walk from here.
[ JJ knows that even the smallest hint of exasperation is all affection from Makoto. He's at least figured that much out. He holds onto Biscuit's leash and bends to give him more scratches while they wait for Makoto to return with directions. When Makoto returns, he stands upright, reaching to grab Makoto's hand in his. He wouldn't dare go on a nice walk like this without some sort of affection being given. ]
Not far. Did you hear that, Biscuit?
[ Hehe. ]
I'm excited you're here. Really happy for it, too.
[Biscuit have a hearty bark, standing up as soon as Makoto had walked out the door. The young man himself laughing softly and squeezing JJ's hand in return.]
I am, too. I don't know what I'd do if I was all alone again, you know?
[Being in another world was scary enough, but with no one recognizeable was even scarier. He lifted JJ's hand to kiss the back of.]
With as good of a person as you are, you'd have no problem getting along with new people.
[ He has no doubt about that. He could sing praises for hours about Makoto but there's a grin as he enjoys the gentle kiss to his hand. ]
But... I'm glad neither of us have to do that. At this point we've world-hopped enough that it would be weird to not have you with me.
[ A little hum. ]
Maybe we should look into a house sooner than later, too.
[ Because the apartments aren't exactly going to be the best with two people, four dogs, a cat, and whatever random things they pick up. And JJ is absolutely going to want to be in Makoto's bubble at any given second. ]
[He didn't comment on JJ saying he was a good person, the man was biased. Not that Makoto was bad or evil or anything, but he certainly didn't always think highly of himself.
They paused a moment in their walk for Biscuit to sniff a couple bushes.]
Speaking of a house... I wonder if we will ever return home. Our family must miss us, you know? I miss the twins and my parents, anyway. I hope they're doing okay.
[ He brings their hands up to his lips, and kisses Makoto's knuckles. It wouldn't be the same without him. He is glad they're together because at least they have that. he hasn't seen his family in so long, he's wondered the same. ]
IF they even notice we're gone. I hear that sometimes it was like you never left.
[ And you pick up where you left off. He doesn't want to do that, though. He's learned a lot about himself in this time. ]

[Thankfully, Biscuit didn't get very far once he left the building. Stopping in front of a man and looking quite happy to see him.
It made sense, too. Given it was JJ. Makoto couldn't stop the smile of relief as he walked forward.]
Yes, I'm here.
