[So Makoto hadn’t been trying to avoid JJ but it was a little difficult to figure out what to do since the B-Cube fiasco. But there was one thing he needed to do for sure.]

I know text doesn’t quite cut it but we seem to be missing each other a lot.

I just wanted to say thank you. For taking care of me the other day. I wasn’t myself obviously and it could have gone south pretty fast but you... well, I’m not sure how to word it but. Thank you.

Can I treat you to dinner or something to make up for being so troublesome?

[Cordis definitely sounded doable! It was definitely a--

wait. Was it? Could it be? No, no, he just wanted to repay him! But... well, now that he thought about it and read above it did sound like a date, didn't it? And it didn't... sound so bad. He tried to think of a proper response, outright denying would be rude but at the same time he wasn't sure. He was deleting and typing and deleting and typing and--!]

[ It might be hard to tell but he's super excited for this because how couldn't he be. Makoto didn't deny that it was a date. ]

[While it was something he had heard about, Makoto had not expected it to happen to him. But it was the first day of Cordis and... it looked like he was Cordis now, rather than Iris. He rubbed at his furry, round ears. His hair looked a bit fluffier in the mirror but what finally let him know what animal traits he had taken on was the tail. It was a lion's tail. He didn't have fangs, at least. And his green eyes were now golden. He sighed.

He was hungry too... but he didn't want to ruin his appetite for dinner! So, he sent a quick text asking to change things to lunch and that he would explain why when he got to JJ's place. In the meantime, he ordered delivery for breakfast and fed the animals.

Sure enough, he was starving by lunch time and was also glad JJ was only two doors down. He gave a knock on the door.]

[ The change of meal meant a change in outfit. It went from dress slacks to black jeans, a tee, and a jacket. He spent his morning caring for the dogs, and he was finishing setting out lunch for them when Makoto knocked on the door. Since he had finished the last of his chores, he makes his way to the door and opening it up. And that's when he sees --

Oh.

He gets it immediately. JJ's eyes light up immediately and he feels his ears burning and oh no, he's cute is the only thought running through his brain. Find words, find words. What are those? The first thing that comes to mind even. Why was this happening around Makoto so much lately -- ]

You look cute.

[ Nailed it. ]

I mean, you're hot, but the ears and tail are cute.

[ He doesn't know if that helps. He reaches out a hand and goes right for the ears.
He -- absolutely has to get this out of his system before they head to the restaurant. Better here than somewhere while they're eating. ]

[Makoto blushed instantly at JJ’s reaction, although flattered all the same. He opened his mouth to thank for the compliment but he ended up gasping softly, breath hitching because wow, that actually felt good?! He leaned into those strong hands gently petting his new ears and his chest rumbled in a purr. His flush brightened and he slapped a hand over his mouth but just like any cat, purring wasn’t something that came out of their mouths so that did nothing to muffle it.]

A-Ah.... um...

[Oh god, this was so embarrassing! His hunger was momentarily forgotten as he fought both his embarrassment and need for more pets. JJ, stoooop!]

[ Ah -- he could stand here for awhile doing this, he realizes. He's pretty happy gently petting Makoto's ears and hair. But, he knows they had plans. He's sure Makoto's hungry. And JJ wants to make sure the other gets to eat. He's been around enough Cordis, and been here long enough how much food some of them could eat.

He withdraws his hand after a moment, and moves to take Makoto's arm. ]

You're cute.

[ A playful hum. ]

But, you need to eat. After food, maybe more of that, then? It seems like you liked it.

[He felt like he was going to melt his face was so red and warm. But JJ eventually stopped petting him and the purring stopped. He would be lying if he said it hadn’t felt good. Makoto was panting lightly, even. Both from his heart racing and the closeness of his friend as his arm was taken and they finally headed out for their date.

If it were possible, his face reddened further as JJ suggested more pets after eating. He nodded regardless. The allure was too good.]

I-If you don’t mind.

[ JJ leans up, stepping in close to Makoto, and placing a small quick kiss to his jaw. It's cute, it's cute how he likes to be pet and enjoys the attention. If he doesn't mind? JJ can't think of a world where he'd mind physical affection when it's freely offered.

He grins. ]

What? Who would mind? You look so cute blushing like that! You're crazy to think I'd tell you no.

[ Ah - the compliments. They come so easily. ]

Did you have somewhere in mind, then? To eat, I mean.
